Those of you who know Don Haaheim also know that he may tend to voice his opinion from time to time. Don recently read Alexandra Morton’s book about the preservation of wild salmon on the B.C. coast. “I was horrified about both DFO and Governments, clearly in bed with the foreign owned fish farms and ignoring most facts about how deadly fish farms are”
You can read more of Don’s comments as well as his latest fly fishing post at www.tourcanada.com/teqblob.htm
Mortons’ book is available at the Okanagan Regional Library or you can find it on line or in store at Mosaic Books

Due to the cold weather and added threat of Covid we have decided to cancel the Boxing Day Turkey Shoot. Club will be closed Saturday and Sunday, Christmas and Boxing Day. You’ll have to wait another week to try out that new Perazzi that arrives on Christmas
The Club will be open for shooting on New Years Day and Sunday January 2
We had a good turnout for the November Multiplex last Saturday.Gord won some money for both singles and doubles. Paolo and Dwayne won some in the Handicap. Congrats to Dwayne for some good shooting in his first Multiplex. You can see the scores hereReminder our next Turkey Shoot is Sunday Nov 28 and our next Multiplex event will be Saturday December 11.
We note the passing of one of the best. An icon among Okanagan trap shooters, Mitch Reeder passed away in Penticton on October 12. According to Don Haaheim, when he was starting to shoot just over 30 years ago, Mitch was one of the top trap shooters in BC and maybe even Canada. Mitch was 93 years old. You can see his obituary here.
Thanks you to all the participants who made this years challenge a great success! Special thanks to Glenn, Al, Greg, Bob and Bob for the set-up. Thanks to Peggy and Pat Bare for the scoring and results and thanks as well to Bev and Nancy who set up the coffee/snack table.
It was a fun shoot with over 30 competitors and 9 shooting stations, rabbits, batu’s, pigeons and all kinds of challenging targets.
You can see the results here
